Product Information

PAW HepatoAdvanced® for Cats & Small Dogs is a concentrated antioxidant supplement that supports liver health and helps manage compromised liver biomarkers. Each film coated chewable tablet packs bioavailable antioxidants, including clinically trialled Siliphos®, to help detoxify and protect the liver in both cats and dogs. It is dosed once daily by body weight and is available exclusively through veterinary clinics.

Health Benefits

  • Supports the liver's own antioxidant supply: supports the production of glutathione, a key antioxidant for liver function
  • Supports natural detoxification: SAMe, silybin and vitamin E are antioxidants which provide detoxification support for the liver
  • Helps offset medication related liver stress: may protect against the negative effects on the liver caused by some medications
  • Support during acute liver toxicity: formulated to support pets with acute liver toxicity, alongside the treatment plan your vet sets
  • Suits cats and small dogs: a weight based dose from 1 kg upwards, in a new and improved film coated chewable tablet that can be broken in half
  • Developed by vets, Australian made: made in Australia to the PAW formulation, inspired by nature

PAW HepatoAdvanced for Cats & Small Dogs is a vet developed liver support supplement in our cat health and dog health ranges that gives smaller pets daily antioxidant support for the liver.

What It's Used For

  • Compromised liver biomarkers: concentrated antioxidant support for cats and small dogs whose liver results need attention. Dr Jane Miller's guides cover the background on liver disease in cats and liver disease in dogs.
  • Everyday liver detoxification: promotes natural liver detoxification, the process the liver uses to clear waste and toxins
  • Medication related liver stress: helps protect against the negative effects on the liver caused by certain medications
  • Acute liver toxicity: supports pets with acute liver toxicity as part of a plan directed by your veterinarian
  • Brain health in dogs: supports brain health in dogs, a secondary benefit of the antioxidant blend

Why Dr Jane Miller Recommends It

“Cats and small dogs are the patients where liver support is hardest to keep going, because the tablet has to be small enough and palatable enough to give every day. PAW HepatoAdvanced uses a pink fish flavoured, film coated chewable tablet that can be broken in half, and it carries the three actives I look for: SAMe to support glutathione production, silybin as clinically trialled Siliphos, and vitamin E. Give it on an empty stomach at least an hour before food, and do not crush it, as the coating is there for a reason. Have your vet set the dose against your pet's weight and tell them about any behavioural medication before you start.”

My dog has increased enzymes in her liver and was put on this medication. It is improving her levels of enzymes which is great as they are getting lower. Thank goodness for this medication.

Antioxidants for liver disease in dogs

Our vet recommended Hepatoadvanced tablets for our dog after diagnosing a higher than normal liver count. We initially purchased from the vet surgery but then discovered how much cheaper they were to purchase online from Vets Love Pets and the savings were substantial. The process is easy and it is a simple routine for us to order every couple of months.

Frequently Asked Questions

The daily dose of PAW HepatoAdvanced for Cats & Small Dogs is set by body weight: 1 tablet for pets 1 kg to 2.4 kg, 2 tablets for 2.5 kg to 9.9 kg, and 3 tablets for 10 kg to 14.9 kg. The dose is given once a day, on an empty stomach at least one hour before food. Tablets may be broken in half to make them easier to give, but must not be crushed. Always confirm the dose with your veterinarian before starting.

No. PAW HepatoAdvanced tablets must not be crushed. They are film coated chewable tablets with an OPADRY AMB II High Performance Moisture Barrier Film Coating, and the tablet may only be broken in half to ease administration. The tablets carry a pink fish flavouring to help with acceptance. Give the dose on an empty stomach, at least one hour before food.

PAW HepatoAdvanced may protect against the negative effects on the liver caused by some medications, so it is often given to pets already on other treatment. Two precautions apply. Concurrent use with behavioural medication may cause additive serotonergic effects, meaning the combined effect on serotonin levels may be greater than expected. Use with caution in pregnant or lactating animals, as safe use has not been established in this population. Tell your vet everything your pet is taking before you start.
