This has turned out to be a great way of getting my puppy used to having her teeth cleaned. I don't think it will ever do as good a job as a toothbrush, but it has been my saviour. Now that puppy is used to having something in her mouth that's not food (and I use the PetSmile toothpaste, which my other dogs love), I'm on the road to a peaceful 'Teef Time' with all three of them.
