Product Information
Paragard Allwormer for Dogs effectively treats and controls roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms (including hydatid tapeworms) in dogs and puppies. The tablets are flavored with a tasty liver taste.
For the treatment of
- Roundworm (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina)
- Hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum, Ancylostoma braziliense, Unicinaria stenocephala)
- Whipworm (Trichuris vulpis)
- Tapeworm (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia ovis, Taenia hydatigena, Taenia pisiformis) - including the hydatid tapeworm, (Echinococcus granulosus)
Allwormer for medium dogs (up to 10kg in bodyweight)
- Palatable liver flavour
- Can be given directly as a treat or crushed and put in food
- Tablets scored for halving doses
Contraindications
- Do not give to puppies under 2 weeks of age.
- Does not control heartworm
- This medication should not be given to animals allergic to the ingredients
- Paragard may be combined with other treatments for example heartworm prevention, flea and tick treatments, vaccination
Active constituents
Each tablet contains:
- Oxibendazole 225mg
- Praziquantel 50mg
Direction for Use
- Weigh dogs before dosing
- Fasting prior to dosing is not necessary – can be given with or without food
- Give an individual measured dose, by mouth, to each dog
- Dogs become reinfested with worms from larvae and eggs in their living environment, so dosing will need to be repeated through the entire life of the cat.
- If worm problems persist, consult a veterinarian.
Dosage
- 1 tablet treats up to 10 kg of dog bodyweight
Dosing Schedule
- Give an individual measured dose at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks of age.
- Then give an individual measured dose at 16, 20 and 24 weeks of age.
- After 6 months of age, give an individual measured dose every 3 months.
- In environments where whipworm or hydatid tapeworm infestation is heavy, an individual measured dose should be given every 6 weeks, after 3 months of age
- Treat breeding bitches prior to mating then 7 days before whelping and 3 to 4 weeks after whelping.
