Overview

VetACE Tablets for Dogs is a prescription medication by Zoetis that veterinarians may use to help manage heart-related conditions and support cardiovascular function in dogs. VetACE is commonly prescribed to help reduce workload on the heart and support circulation under veterinary supervision.

VetACE contains benazepril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Your veterinarian will determine whether VetACE 2.5 mg or 5 mg tablets are appropriate for your dog and how they should be used as part of an ongoing treatment plan.

How VetACE Works

VetACE works by inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme, which helps relax blood vessels and reduce resistance to blood flow. This may help lower pressure on the heart and support more efficient circulation.

Your veterinarian will assess how VetACE fits into your dog’s broader cardiac management strategy.

When Vets May Prescribe VetACE

Veterinarians may prescribe VetACE Tablets to help manage:

  • Congestive heart failure in dogs
  • Cardiac-related blood pressure changes
  • Long-term cardiovascular support, where ACE inhibitor therapy is appropriate

VetACE helps manage disease progression but does not cure underlying heart disease.

Dosage Guidance

VetACE Tablets are available in 2.5 mg and 5 mg strengths, with each pack containing 42 tablets.

Your veterinarian will determine:

  • the appropriate VetACE strength
  • the correct dose based on your dog’s weight and condition
  • how often VetACE should be given
  • how treatment response should be monitored over time

Do not adjust the dose or stop treatment unless advised by your veterinarian.

Safety Information & Side Effects

  • Not suitable for dogs with known sensitivity to benazepril or other ACE inhibitors.

  • Possible VetACE side effects in dogs may include reduced appetite, vomiting, diarrhoea or lethargy.
