Product Information
ParaGard Allwormer For Small Dogs is designed for the effective treatment of various parasitic infections, including roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Ancylostoma braziliense, Uncinaria stenocephala), whipworms (Trichuris vulpis), and tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia ovis, Taenia hydatigena, Taenia pisiformis), as well as the hydatid tapeworm (Echinococcus granulosus).
- Treats and controls roundworm, hookworm and whipworm
- Treats and controls tapeworm, including hydatids
- Liver flavoured tablet: can give with or without food
- Treatment for puppies from 2 weeks of age
Contraindications
- Do not give to puppies under 2 weeks of age.
- Does not control heartworm
- This medication should not be given to animals allergic to the ingredients
- Paragard may be combined with other treatments for example heartworm prevention, flea and tick treatments, vaccination
Ingredients
Active constituents
Each tablet contains:
- Oxibendazole 112.5mg
- Praziquantel 25mg
Direction for Use
- Weigh dogs before dosing
- Fasting prior to dosing is not necessary – can be given with or without food
- Give an individual measured dose, by mouth, to each dog
- Dogs become reinfested with worms from larvae and eggs in their living environment, so dosing will need to be repeated through the entire life of the dog.
- If worm problems persist, consult a veterinarian.
Dosage
- 1 tablet treats up to 5 kg of dog bodyweight
Dosing Schedule
- Give an individual measured dose at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks of age.
- Then give an individual measured dose at 16, 20 and 24 weeks of age.
- After 6 months of age, give an individual measured dose every 3 months.
- In environments where whipworm or hydatid tapeworm infestation is heavy, an individual measured dose should be given every 6 weeks, after 3 months of age
- Treat breeding bitches prior to mating then 7 days before whelping and 3 to 4 weeks after whelping.
