Product Information

Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Urinary Stress + Metabolic cat food is clinical nutrition specially formulated to help manage your cat's urinary health and weight. It is a weight management cat food that has been shown to reduce the recurrence rate of the most common urinary signs by 89% and reduce body weight by 11% in 60 days. It is also a urinary health cat food that contains ingredients to help manage stress. This wet cat food is made with chicken and has a delicious taste that your cat will love.

Just like the human obesity epidemic, 55% of the cat population is overweight. Even a little extra weight can impact your cat's quality of life and relationship with family as the extra weight can reduce play time, put your overweight cat at risk of urinary conditions like bladder stones, and negatively affect the general lifelong health of your cat. Stress has also been shown to negatively impact bladder health.

It's important to continue to feed Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Urinary Stress + Metabolic cat food to help manage your cat's urinary health and weight, even after their symptoms improve. Consult your veterinarian for further information on how Hill's Prescription Diet foods can help them continue to enjoy a happy and active life.

    Great product

My cat has FLUTD and had two urinary blockages within 6 months. So expensive in vet bills and extremely stressful for him. He's been on this wet food for the past 10 months and no symptoms of FLUTD have come back, touch wood! :)

Frequently Asked Questions

Just like people, eating amounts vary from pet to pet. Most Hill's pet foods have a feeding guide on the package to help you determine the proper amount to feed your pet. Please keep in mind that the feeding guide is intended only as a starting point, and you should follow your veterinarian’s recommendation based on your pet's specific health needs.

Opened cans of Science Diet®, Science Diet VetEssentials or Prescription Diet® dog food should be stored in the fridge to retain moisture, minimize exposure to air and reduce transfer of odors to other food. The best way to store opened cans of cat or dog food is to use a plastic pet food lid that fits the top of the can to prevent moisture loss and transfer of odors. If a plastic lid is not available, plastic wrap also provides a very good moisture, air and odor barrier. Zip-to-close bags provide good moisture barriers but do not provide good oxygen and odor barriers.

In this situation, we suggest following one or more of the tips below to encourage your pet to eat.

  • If you are starting to feed your pet a new food, a gradual transition from the current food to a new food helps wean your pet from one food to another.
  • For dogs, allow 10-20 minutes for your dog to eat, then remove the remaining food and wait to feed your dog until his next meal.
  • If you are feeding dry pet food, try hand-feeding the kibble from your hand in small portions for the first few feedings, like a treat.
