At VLP Pharmacy, we prioritise the health and safety of your dog. Under Australian law, medications used to manage pain and inflammation in dogs NSAIDs are classified as Schedule 4 (S4) Prescription Only. These medications can only be dispensed by a registered pharmacist upon receipt of a valid, original paper prescription from an Australian registered veterinarian.
VLP Pharmacyʼs 3-Step Ordering Process
- Consult Your Veterinarian: Your vet must determine if a specific medication is appropriate for your petʼs condition and provide you with a written prescription.
- Submit Your Order Online: Select the prescribed strength and quantity from our pharmacy that exactly matches whatʼs on your petʼs prescription. During checkout, you will be prompted to upload a digital copy of your prescription for our pharmacists to review.
- Mail the Original Paper Prescription: Australian law requires pharmacies to hold the physical, original paper prescription before dispatching S4 medications.
Important Safety Information
- Side Effects: Common side effects in dogs may include lethargy (unusual tiredness), changes in appetite, or mild digestive upset.
- Precautions: These medications must be used strictly according to the "Directions for Use" on the approved label and your veterinarian's tapering schedule.
- Contraindications: Do not use if your dog has a known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or a history of seizures (unless specifically directed by your vet).
