    Life saver

The hills science i/d low fat products have been a game changer in my Weimaraner Long Hairs life. She hasn't had another attack of chronic pancreatitis since staying on this food. It has really saved her life. A dog who has was diagnosed with idiopathic pancreatitis has had to now stay on this low fat food forever. It is wonderful that the price with free delivery makes it so much more beneficial when purchasing these products on a regular basis.

We are very grateful for this from Vets love Pets and also providing such great service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Just like people, eating amounts vary from pet to pet. Most Hill's pet foods have a feeding guide on the package to help you determine the proper amount to feed your pet. Please keep in mind that the feeding guide is intended only as a starting point, and you should follow your veterinarian’s recommendation based on your pet's specific health needs.

Opened cans of Science Diet®, Science Diet VetEssentials or Prescription Diet® dog food should be stored in the fridge to retain moisture, minimize exposure to air and reduce transfer of odors to other food. The best way to store opened cans of cat or dog food is to use a plastic pet food lid that fits the top of the can to prevent moisture loss and transfer of odors. If a plastic lid is not available, plastic wrap also provides a very good moisture, air and odor barrier. Zip-to-close bags provide good moisture barriers but do not provide good oxygen and odor barriers.

In this situation, we suggest following one or more of the tips below to encourage your pet to eat.

  • If you are starting to feed your pet a new food, a gradual transition from the current food to a new food helps wean your pet from one food to another.
  • For dogs, allow 10-20 minutes for your dog to eat, then remove the remaining food and wait to feed your dog until his next meal.
  • If you are feeding dry pet food, try hand-feeding the kibble from your hand in small portions for the first few feedings, like a treat.
