Dr Lisa Deering graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Sydney in 1995. With over 30 years of experience, she has worked in mixed animal practice, small animal care, and not-for-profit shelter organisations.

Lisa is now part of the team at Meow and Friends Community Vet, where her passions for fear-free handling, surgery, and mentoring young professionals shine.

Dr Lisa Deering has been a practicing veterinarian for over 30 years, with a career spanning mixed animal, small animal, and shelter veterinary work. Her extensive experience in both private and not-for-profit sectors has given her a unique perspective on the veterinary industry.


Dr Lisa's passion for veterinary care is matched by her commitment to improving the lives of pets and their owners. She is particularly enthusiastic about fear-free handling techniques, ensuring pets have a positive experience during their visits. Additionally, she has a keen interest in surgery and enjoys mentoring team members to achieve their professional goals.


Throughout her career, Lisa has been instrumental in driving positive change within the veterinary industry. She has contributed to the growth and success of Australia’s first BCorp Veterinary Practice, helped introduce veterinary social work into clinic operations, and managed large teams across multiple practices. Her dedication to continuous improvement and innovation has left a lasting impact on the practices and teams she has worked with.

Oscar is a rescue pug-cross and nearly 11. He’s a loyal companion with a big heart and plenty of character.


Miss Annie

Miss Annie is a 17-year-old Clydesdale cross Thoroughbred that Dr. Lisa hand-reared herself. She’s a gentle giant and a true testament to the special bond between humans and horses.
