Product Information

Denamarin is the #1 vet recommended liver support brand for dogs and cats. It is clinically proven combination of powerful antioxidants to support the liver and brain.

Denamarin
provides multi-faceted high-level nutritional support for the liver due to its synergistic combination of S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) and silybin.

Please note we are using a new tablet coating so you may notice our tablets are now beige.

Denamarin is available in three sizes to make it easy to give to your cat or dog:

  • For cats and small dogs up to 5kg
  • For medium dogs 5-15kg
  • For large dogs over 15kg.

Contents:

S-adenosyl methionine (SAMe)
a precursor of one the body’s most important antioxidants glutathione. The SAMe in Denamarin has been shown to help protect liver cells from cell death and may help cell repair and regeneration.

Silybin phosphatidylcholine
a highly bioavailable form of the most potent silymarin flavonoid – an antioxidant and choleretic. Silybin is an active part of an extract from milk thistle, known as silymarin, and has been shown to support liver function by helping maintain a healthy oxidative balance.

Patented protective coating to prevent oxidation of the SAMe.

Indications

  • To support any case of liver disease.
  • Clinically proven to help animals with chronic liver disease, copper storage disease, paracetamol toxicity, and chemotherapy induced hepatopathy.
  • SAMe can also assist in cases of canine cognitive dysfunction.

Specification

Each Tablet Contains

Cat and Small Dog Pack: SAMe 90mg, Silybin 9mg, Additives; Methionine as S-adenosylmethionine, Composition; Silybin phytosome (Milk thistle extract/ Phosphatidylcholine complex), Mannitol.

Medium Dog Pack: SAMe 225mg, Silybin 24mg, Additives; Methionine as S-adenosylmethionine, Composition; Silybin phytosome (Milk thistle extract/ Phosphatidylcholine complex), Mannitol.

Large Dog Pack: SAMe 425mg, Silybin 35mg, Additives; Methionine as S-adenosylmethionine, Composition; Silybin phytosome (Milk thistle extract/ Phosphatidylcholine complex), Mannitol.

Administration

The coated tablet protects the SAMe from degradation. Denamarin is also blister-packed to prevent oxidation of the SAMe to the non-biologically active R,S-SAMe isomer.

Direction for Use

Where possible we recommend an overnight fast to ensure the stomach is empty before administering the tablet, thereby allowing the best absorption of the active ingredients.  However, when an overnight fast is not possible please allow a minimum of 2 hours (ideally longer) after feeding before administering the tablets.

Once the tablet has been administered, allow at least 1 hour before feeding your pet.

Dose according to weight:

Tablets must be given whole, on an empty stomach to ensure optimal bioavailability and efficacy

Storage

  • Store in a cool, dry place (refrigeration is not necessary)
  • 2 year shelf life from the date of manufacture.

Notes:

  • Denamarin is the only liver support product with proven stability, bioavailability and efficacy in a range of conditions.
  • Denamarin is the only liver support product on the market with published clinical trials on effectiveness and bioavailability.
  • A unique fermentation process means Denamarin contains a higher concentration of the active isomer of SAMe.
  • High tech manufacturing, a proprietary protective coating, and high quality blister packaging ensure that the SAMe remains stable and effective.
  • Denamarin has replaced Denosyl in Australia. Denamarin contains the same ingredient as Denosyl (SAMe) with the added benefit of Silybin for extra liver support.

    Denamarin

My 6 yo Boxer has had elevated liver enzymes for 4 years. Started on daily Denamarin 12 months ago, reduced to 3x week 3 months ago and is now within normal limits. My 13 yo boxer has unfortunately developed elevated LFTs but is unable to tolerate Denamarin. I would still recommend trying it as it has certainly improved my younger dog
