Product Information

Royal Canin Urinary S/O is formulated for the nutritional management of adult dogs with urinary stones (struvites) and to help prevent their recurrence. This is achieved through the diet's urine acidifying properties and its low magnesium levels.

Each Royal Canin formula is specifically designed and approved by scientific experts in cat and dog nutrition. The specific features of this formula are:

  • Controlled levels of magnesium, calcium and phosphorus.
  • Promotes a sustainable urine pH level and urinary ion concentration.
  • Enriched with antioxidants and EPA-DHA.

Struvite Dissolution

Helps dissolve all types of struvite stones.

Low RSS
Helps lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate crystal formation.

Urine Dilution
Urine dilution makes the urine less liable to form struvite and calcium oxalate stones.

Low Magnesium
Reduced level of magnesium, a natural component of struvite crystals.

    Expensive but quality

The food costs a bit but VetsLovePets can get it to me for the cheapest price I can find. My dogs really like it and they and very healthy for seniors. It keeps them out of the vet with urinary issues which used to be a regular occurrence. I think they overall smell better too?

Frequently Asked Questions

Dry diets should be stored in their original bags and resealed between feeding. Most small bags include a re-sealable zipper. If the bag does not have this feature, it’s recommended to keep the product in the original bag and store in a dry, airtight plastic or steel container with a lid.

For dry diets, palatability of the kibble remains at its best for one month after the bag is opened, however will be fine for up to two months so long as the bag is stored properly, in a cool, dry, airtight container.

Introducing your pet onto a new diet should done gradually over 5 - 7 days to avoid the possibility of digestive upset. We suggest:

Mix 25% of your new diet with 75% of your pet’s previous diet for 2 or 3 days

Then mix the two diets 50% and 50% for 2 or 3 days

Then mix 75% of the new diet with 25% of the previous diet for 2 or 3 days

You can now try feeding with 100% of the new diet.

This guide is also useful for an easy transition of the same product from current bag to new bag.
